TBL Values
We believe that, with support, the student in TBL can make positive changes toward:
- Accessing public school curriculum
- Engaging in appropriate social interactions
- Becoming safer at home, school, and in the community
We believe that the students' families:
- Have multiple strengths that, with collaboration and strong communicating, can help us find the individualized interventions that will help their children make progress
- Deserve support in their efforts to develop sustainable community-based resources
We believe that it is important to hold both the students and ourselves to high expectations.
We believe that positive behavior supports, strength based assessment, building positive relationships, and evidence based practices are essential components of woking with students who are emotionally and behaviorally challenged.
Program Goals
Students make positive changes towards:
- Accessing public school curriculum
- Engaging in appropriate social interactions
- Decreasing high risk behaviors at home, school and in the community
Students will:
- Feel connected to the greater school community
- Be included in their inclusive content and unified arts curriculum classes as much as they are able.
- Make progress on individual treatment planning goals
- Develop skills in working both independently and collaboratively
- Develop and maintain a positive sense of self worth
Educational staff will:
- Provide inclusion supports across the curriculum or alternative substantially separate curriculum classes across content areas as needed.
- Implement appropriate curriculum modifications based on students’ individual learning needs and their IEPs
- Provide consultation to general education staff related to student need and program philosophies.
- Develop positive behavior supports, strengths based assessment, and evidence based practice to inform their work.
- Work closely with families to develop sustainable community based resources.
Counselor will:
- Provide individual and group therapy
- Monitor and evaluate progress toward therapeutic goals
- Provide consultation and training to general education staff related to student need and program philosophies.
- Build and maintains relationships with all families
- Facilitate accessing community-based services
