Social Studies

The Sharon High School Social Studies Department works to develop "citizens of the world" - students who are not only aware of the world around them but are actively engaged with it. Courses in our department provide students with many opportunities to think critically, express themselves orally and in writing, as well as analyze, debate, and critique a variety of evidence. Students are exposed to and practice all facets of the social sciences, as evidenced in classrooms where they go beyond "names and dates" through a variety of student-centered activities that allow them to make meaning of the world around them.
